Teatro do Noroeste – Centro Dramático de Viana celebrates its 30th Anniversary

Last Monday, December 6, Teatro do Noroeste – Centro Dramático de Viana, resident company of Teatro Municipal Sá de Miranda, celebrated 30 years of professional artistic creation in Alto Minho.

The ceremony, marked by the premiere of the company’s 148th creation – Hantígona – was attended by the Director-General of the Directorate-General for the Arts, Américo Rodrigues, the Mayor of Viana do Castelo, Luís Nobre, Ricardo Simões, Artistic Director of Teatro do Noroeste – CDV and Raquel Amorim, Director of Teatro do Noroeste – CDV’s educational service.

“Hantígona” by Guilhermo Heras and translated by Alexandra Moreira da Silva is the first co-production of the Teatro do Noroeste – CDV with the Teatro Nacional São João, in Porto.

The show with the interpretation of the guest actors Ana Brandão, Joana de Viana, Pedro Almendra and the resident cast of Teatro do Noroeste – CDV is on stage until 18 December, at the Main Hall of Teatro Municipal Sá de Miranda.
