Synopsis
Between paradigms of love, of the madness of alienated man, of the present time, an incredible Juliet contrasts with the impossibility of a Romeo with no place in the present time. The action takes place in an unreal graveyard, in an unreal Verona, many years after the Shakespearean drama. Juliet, or a woman who thinks she is Juliet, puts flowers on her own grave every day. She has forgotten where Romeo lies – or never knew. She has forgotten some details of the drama – if she ever knew them. But she keeps alive the idea that everyone, except her, deserved a worthy place in history. Unraveling emotions, dressed as a widow or cross-dressed in colors, sometimes covering her face with a black net, sometimes assuming it, Juliet breaks the paradigm of Eternal Love, starting by not liking herself, and, maybe, wishing for a glimmer of love that someone had wasted and that she felt so good to find. In contrast, Romeo – the spirit of Romeo, an ethereal, eternal Romeo – appears to him. He believes he personifies love, but he is in for some surprises capable of shaking him up. And shake us up. The action takes place in the present day, for a little more than an hour, in the scenario that translates the idealization of the Verona cemetery made by a Juliet and her encounter with the real Romeo.
