In this second edition of the Festival, 11 different shows are presented over 9 days. From 10 to 18 November, there is a play daily in the Main Room and in the renovated Café Concerto, a space that reinforces the cultural offer and improves the reception of audiences at the Teatro Municipal Sá de Miranda.
From the modern Portuguese theater, but also from Spain and, in particular, from Galicia, we selected works by emblematic companies such as O Teatrão, Companhia de Teatro de Almada, Companhia de Teatro de Braga, Teatro das Beiras and Tranvía Teatro, of Zaragoza. We added them to the creations of artistic collectives of credits already signed, such as Ensemble – Sociedade de Actores, Peripécia Teatro and Mandrágora Theater and Marionettes. And we added the innovative strength of young creators like Raquel André and the Galicians from A Panadaría. We were also present at this festival with the most recent creation of Teatro do Noroeste – Centro Dramático de Viana and we are honored to have here represented, through co-productions, the National Theater D. Maria II, the National Theater of S. João and the Centro Dramatic Galician.
There is a Pass that gives access to tickets for all Festival plays. And there is also a prize for those who attend more than half of the scheduled plays. Prize? – You may ask. Yes, because a festival is also a party. There can be very serious things in theater. Seriously. We already know that. Wherever theater is done and shown, we will always see human beings in the mirror, with all the crises, defects and laughter that we are capable of producing in the world. But theater is also a joy, even in tragedy and, therefore, we also have the right and the duty to celebrate with all property, the space of Fraternity and Peace that Art, and in this case, the Theater, are capable of providing us in a unique way.
