Salão Nobre

The Salão Nobre of the Municipal Theater Sá de Miranda is an elegant space on the 1st floor that houses non-performing activities, such as exhibitions, colloquia and meetings.

On October 23, 2020, Salão Nobre Amadeu Costa was named, on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of the distinguished Viennese ethnographer who, during the second half of the 20th century, performed the activity of storekeeper of the building, having written the most complete documentary review. from the activity of the Teatro Municipal Sá de Miranda, since its inauguration in 1885, until its acquisition by the Viana do Castelo City Council, in 1985.

In this space, the exhibition “Amadeu Costa, Man of the Theater and Ethnographer”, organized by the Municipality of Viana do Castelo and by the Educational Service of the Teatro do Noroeste – CDV, is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm from Monday to Friday
